It's been a really long winter. And now, more than ever, we need that warm sunshine to grace our beautiful faces. Well, kiss your clocks my friends, because Daylight Savings is here (Sunday)! I know it's tough to lose an hour, and it's not a magical off switch for winter, but it does mean that spring is just around the corner, and with all of the coronavirus coverage bombarding us at every turn right now, I'm more than happy to set my clock forward. The Spring Equinox isn't all I'm happy about, though. There are certainly more exciting things to do this weekend than just set your clock one hour forward, so take a good gander at the Top 10 list below, see what strikes your fancy, and as always, have a great one!
1) Kyle Kinane: The Spring Break Tour
Where: Vermont Comedy Club, 101 Main Street, Burlington
When: Friday, 7PM or 9:30PM
If it’s been a long week, just skip right ahead to the link below and purchase a ticket to see Kyle Kinane at the Vermont Comedy Club this Friday. Seriously, the shows are ALMOST sold out. You can thank me later. With his appearances on Bob’s Burgers, Drunk History, and many late night shows, Kyle knows funny. Actually, rather than say much more, I’m going to just insist that you read his bio on the Vermont Comedy Club page. Read through to the end. You’ll see. And then congratulate yourself on doing the right thing and going to this show. To Read The Bio & Purchase Tickets >>

Each ticket includes a copy of the EP to take home! For Event Info & To RSVP >>
3) The Robert Cray Band
Where: Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, 153 Main Street, Burlington
When: Friday, 8PM-11PM
One of the perks of researching the Top 10 List each week, is being introduced to music like The Robert Cray Band. Now, this band is FAR from new, but I’ve just newly discovered them (try not to judge me). All I can say is, wow… so much talent. This five-time Grammy winner and his mix of blues, soul and R&B had me in full vacation mode (in my mind, at least). If you’re looking for great music this weekend, then this is a really great option. For Event Info & Tickets >>
4) Dsantos Latin Social
Where: Waterworks Food + Drink, 20 Winooski Falls Way, Winooski
When: Friday, 9PM-11:59PM
A couple of months ago, while finishing my dinner upstairs at Waterworks, I suddenly heard a voice over the speakers. I was puzzled at first. Is that you, God? No, it wasn’t coming from above, it was coming from the main floor. We peered over the balcony to see a large group of people assembled in two opposing lines by the bar, all dressed up, getting ready to dance. I was a bit giddy to realize we had stumbled into the Dsantos Latin Social evening. It was one of those sights to see, and to be seen. For just $5, you should really check this out. For Event Info >>
5) Painting with Alcohol Ink
Where: Milton Artists’ Guild, 199 US Route 7, Milton
When: Saturday, 10AM-12PM
In this class taught by Catherine Putzier, learn how to mix colors into interesting patterns, and to create vivid abstract plant life. 6) Spring Break at The Soda Plant
Where: The Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street, Burlington
When: Saturday, 10:30AM-5PM
The Soda Plant is throwing a family-friendly spring break party this Saturday. This is a great opportunity to check out the Soda Plant’s maker studios, galleries, foods, drinks and more. The event kicks off on Saturday at 10:30AM with a “Swing into Spring” event at The Silk Swing Studio, where you’ll learn how to create a neurotransmitter cocktail. What exactly is that? I have no idea, but color me curious! Starting at 12PM, grab a bite at Tomgirl Kitchen while you enjoy Drag Queen Story time. You’ll also enjoy live music from the always-fun Mal Maïz starting at 3PM, with more food and beverages (including cocktails, wine, cider and more). For Event Info >>

Take your little ones to learn about EDGE Summer Camp. While you’re there, you can participate in free activities like face painting, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, and field house games. The Big Blue Trunk will also be there! Raffle prizes and an auction will benefit the Vermont Children’s Hospital. For Event Info >>
8) Caroline Rose with Good Baby
Where: Higher Ground, 1214 Williston Road, South Burlington
When: Saturday, 8:30PM-12AM
If you haven’t heard of musician Caroline Rose, hop on your nearest device, do a quick Google search, and watch the first video (or two or three) that pops up. I did, and I quickly found myself lost in her quirky moves, funky beats, and cardinal-colored outfits. Truly an interesting character, I’m sure Caroline’s show will be plenty entertaining. Watch her perform, along with special guest Good Baby at Higher Ground this Saturday evening. For Event Info & Tickets >>
9) Bend & Brew Yoga
Where: On Tap Bar & Grill, 4 Park Street, Essex Junction
When: Sunday, 12:30PM-1:30PM
I love a good sip and… well, anything. We’re the “craft beer capital” of the United States, after all. But I feel considerably less guilty pairing my sips with something productive, like yoga. At this Bend & Brew Yoga class with Lisa Tidman of SoulShine Power Yoga, you’ll stretch, sip, and listen to live music by Troy Millette! If beer isn’t your thing, there’s always a Bloody Mary. Mmmmmm. For Event Info >>
10) The Music of Phish For Kids
Where: Higher Ground, 1214 Williston Road, South Burlington
When: Sunday, 3PM-4PM
The Rock and Roll Playhouse is back with their Music of Phish for Kids show at Higher Ground this Sunday. This event is the perfect amount of time to introduce your little ones to their first music concert. You’ll find fun lights, great music, a ton of dancing, and the band does a great job getting kids engaged along the way. While the volume at these shows has not bothered me, everyone has different sensitivities, so if you have any concern, earmuffs like Baby Banz are available for purchase. For Event Info & Tickets >>
