This year marks the 10th anniversary of Burlington Wine & Food. As the name implies, this event is a delicious pairing of world-class wines and top-chef food creations. We wanted to share a preview of this upcoming event, to give you a sense of what it has in store.
If you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or a foodie, Burlington Wine & Food is probably already at the top of your yearly event list. But you don’t need to be an expert on tannins to appreciate this event. You just need to have an appetite for a good time.
Grand Tasting is an all-inclusive ticket, providing both wine tastings and menu samples. Tickets include access to wine tastings from far-reaching origins, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, France and Argentina. There will also be wine from California, Oregon, Washington, and (of course) Vermont. And because nothing goes better with wine than a good nosh, menu samples from restaurants that lead the farm-to-table movement will also be available. These top-chefs hail from both Vermont and Quebec, and event attendees can expect specialty foods and artisinal cheeses to accompany their tastings.
In addition to the wine and food, there will be select Vermont-made spirits and mixology. Attendees can also watch demonstrations or seminars, hosted by award-winning chefs and winemakers, all while taking in some live Jazz music and the scenic views of the Lake Champlain shoreline.
A Culinary Stage For Celebrity Chefs
To celebrate a decade of this great event, three celebrity chefs are on tap to provide live demos on the brand new Culinary Stage, which will be located in the main tent. Celebrity chefs include Kevin des Chenes, Michele Ragussis and Chef Plum. You can learn more about the celebrity chefs here.
Cancer Patient Support Foundation
This year, Burlington Wine & Food is partnering with the Cancer Patient Support Foundation. This nonprofit organization, serving families in Vermont and Northern New York, is dedicated to enhancing and furthering the availability of comprehensive psychosocial services to cancer patients and their families. A ticket to the event helps support this wonderful Foundation.
Sound like a good time? We think so!
But still, we wanted to ask the owners what they thought was distinctive about this particular event.
We are so fortunate here in Vermont to be surrounded by amazing local ingredients and talent in the food and beverage worlds,” said Tracy Stolese, who owns the event together with her husband, Mike Stolese. “We love having this opportunity to pair it with so many fabulous wines from around the globe, and knowledge from these incredible visiting chefs and winemakers, and share it with the community.
The event includes two sessions on Saturday, June 22nd. Session One is from 12:30pm-3:30pm, and Session Two is from 5pm-8pm. Please note that this event is 21+ and requires ID for entry (no children). The event is also under tent cover, so it will be held rain or shine.
Burlington Wine & Food is offering an “Early Bird” promotion on tickets now through the end of April, for $20 off the gate price. To purchase tickets, click here.
